A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me.
Everyone in Leake County had heard about the solid white turkey in the Walnut Grove area. After a long season of not hunting in the area because my mom was after this very unique turkey, I decided to go listen for it the next morning. As I arrived, I saw a solid white bird standing in a field. I grabbed my binoculars and confirmed that it was the white turkey.
I rushed home and then came back. Finally, I got into the woods behind the field and began calling for about an hour—it felt like an eternity. At last, I saw him coming toward me. I was able to harvest this beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime bird that God had given me.
