I had this deer on camera for over a week coming out everyday in daylight. You can’t hunt the spot if the wind is out of the north at all. So when we finally got a chance to go we took the opportunity. My grandfather/Poppie and I went hunting one day, and we got in there before daylight and left about 10:30am. Then we ate lunch and went back about 1:30pm until dark.
The next day after seeing nothing but does that evening and some buck that chased them off, My dad decided to take me to the same spot. We got in before daylight. As soon as it was bright enough to see we saw a deer step out at 120 yards. I looked through my scope as my dad looked through his binoculars. We could tell it was a buck but we could not tell if it was him. We hoped it was, and as a 10 year old girl I finally decided to shoot.
I killed one of the biggest deer of my life on Christmas Eve of 2024. That was the best Christmas present ever.
