My four-year-old and I thoroughly enjoy exploring the woods on our property, as well as the adjacent land belonging to his grandfather. During one of our adventures, we stumbled upon a Wood Duck nesting spot behind our home. I informed him that some people hunt these ducks, and he expressed a keen interest in giving it a try. Coincidentally, my broker happens to be an enthusiastic duck hunter and was more than willing to assist.
On the morning of our first hunt, my son’s excitement was palpable. As the first light broke, he couldn’t contain himself, enthusiastically waving his arms and pointing as ducks dipped and dove into the pond in front of us. He’s already looking forward to the next hunting expedition, and as a father, I couldn’t be happier.
