Youth Hunter’s first harvest

My stepson Dawson Davis (14) drew the Yazoo refugee youth rifle hunt weekend. He has never been into hunting before last season.

A weekend that will never be forgotten, the first morning at 8:00 am he decided he wanted to get down and move spots. We moved about 200 yards and sat down, within 15 minutes a group of hogs stepped out at 10 yards!! The biggest one saw us and started pawing the ground and chomping its jaws. He dropped her in her tracks at 15 yards ready to charge!

He finished up the weekend with his first deer, doe, Sunday morning, fist squirrel, black, from lake George WMA and Sunday afternoon with his first buck , 4 point, behind my house.
